What should
I expect at a first appointment?
Firstly an initial consultation will be arranged, which lasts
up to one hour. During this time a comprehensive assessment
of the current condition will be taken, in addition to details
of your past medical history, medication and hobbies.
Following this a thorough physical and functional examination
will take place, which may involve you undressing to your
underwear in order to carry out an accurate assesssment. At
the end of the initial consultation a diagnosis of the problem
will be given and explained.
The treatment plan will then be discussed and appropriate
printed exercises provided to aid your recovery. Follow up
appointments will take about thirty minutes and will be focused
on re-assessment of the initial condition and treatment.
How
much does an appointment cost?
The first appointment is £50.00 and follow up appointments
cost £38.00. Payments are made by cash or cheque after
the appointment. Receipts are available for health insurance
companies. Please call for pricing of home visits.
If less than 24 hours notice is given to cancel an appointment,
regrettably a fee of 50% of the cost of the consultation will
be charged.
Are you registered with Insurance Companies?
Yes, I am registered with Bupa and a number of other insurance
companies. As a State Registered Physiotherapist I am eligible
as provider for most insurance companies. You will need to
check with your insurance company prior to treatment commencing
to clarify whether a medical referral is required and the
number of treatments available. Some insurers may have an
excess on their policies.
Do you provide home visits?
Yes, rehabilitation at home can be provided. The cost of a
home visit is £80.00, this includes travel time from
the clinic. Please telephone for more details.
